Workforce Investment Act Program


WIA Program

International Institute of Technology & Application (IITA) is a service provider under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). We assist individuals in managing their careers through information technology training, exam preparation, certification, resume development and job search support in order to transition trainees into high-paying IT jobs. This program is 100% funded by the US department of labor through the Workforce Investment Act.

Courses Offered Under this Program

All courses currently offered under International Institute of Technology & Application (IITA) academic programs are also offered under the WIA grant-funded program

Participating Counties

We currently offer courses for WIA participants in the following counties: Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, Douglas and Atlanta Regional Commissions (Gwinnett, Henry and Clayton County) and Atlanta Workforce Development Agency (AWDA).

Application Process Steps

  1. Candidate contacts local WIA representative to pre-qualify to receive training benefits. Let them know you are interested in attending PIT.
  2. After processing, WIA office refers candidates to PIT
  3. Candidate completes and submits an admissions application
  4. Candidate provides proof of a U.S. high school diploma, GED or the recognized equivalent.
  5. Candidate interviews with the college admissions representative
  6. Candidate Passes the PIT Computer Literacy Test (CLT)
  7. Candidate meets with admissions representative to select courses
  8. Students obtain a letters of admissions and acceptance into the program
  9. Candidates collects letter of acceptance and sends to WIA local office.
  10. Candidate presents a voucher obtained from WIA office to the Office of Finance and Accounts
  11. Candidate resumes classes
